The Course
The course is laid out in a valley with gently sloping sides, through which runs a stream and its tributary which is used to great effect on several holes.
Although not a particularly long course, measuring just 6406 yards from the white tees, 6157 from the yellows, and 5418 yards from the reds. The tree lined fairways, and proximity of the streams on several holes, make this a course which challenges and rewards players at levels of skill and ability.
The 12th is our signature hole. A par 3 of just 120 yards, it is played from an elevated tee, through a dell ringed by hawthorn, to a relatively small green. Viewed in spring the blossom leading up to this hole is a stunningly beautiful sight. Several holes, notably the 6th, 16th, 17th, and 18th, are 'ridge and furrow' fairways; rarely seen on golf courses these days, so you will need to plan your shots with care!
Our Head Greenkeeper, Vince Gilroy, and his highly experienced team, are committed to presenting the course in first class condition throughout the year, so maintaining its long held reputation as an excellent golf course .
