"One of the best courses in the midlands"

Centenery

General:

In 2013 Gay Hill Golf Club will reach its centenary – a momentous event for any club!

Our Centenary Committee are totally committed to making this a successful and memorable year for members and visitors alike. The Committee are working towards a number of targets:

  • to raise at least £50k by the end of 2012
  • to implement projects between 2011 and 2013 that improve the visual aspect and facilities of the course and/or the clubhouse
  • to deliver a great 2013 Centenary celebration year for all

Progress:

Fundraising is on target with upwards of £35k raised to date

A total of 16 projects proposals and their associated costs were presented to our members in February 2011, with the projects ranging from landscaping features on the course and the outside areas, through to improvements to the Clubhouse. Members then voted on their preferred projects. The top 4 projects were:

  • Replace the lounge carpet
  • Replace the lounge window dressings
  • Re-model the Burn on the 1st Hole to make it more of a feature
  • Develop/improve the patio area

In October 2011 the first two projects were delivered, and we now have a great new look to our Clubhouse Lounge

Fundraising continues with our ever popular dancing classes on Wedensday evenings through the winter months, and our raffles for car parking spaces and membership fees continue to be popular, alongside our very successful Numbers Club.
